Pai Cream for Dry Skin Reviews

Review of Pai Skin Cream for Dry Skin
By Gill M.

Packaging The sample of Pai Macadamia & Rose Cream comes in a small transparent jar with a white lid. (The full size cream comes in a transparent glass bottle with a pump dispenser, in a recyclable box.) The packaging of Pai Skin Cream for Dry Skin is simple but stylish and tasteful. The Pai logo (black lettering incorporating a leaf) looks elegant. The text used on the bottle and the box is easy to read.

Application As someone who suffers from dry skin, particularly during the winter months when the weather and central heating seem to suck all of the moisture out of my skin, this cream was a great find! Pai Skin Cream for Dry Skin is a rich organic, moisturiser (even suitable for sensitive skin) with a lovely light, natural fragrance. The texture of Pai Skin Cream for Dry Skin is rich and comforting and it is absorbed easily by my dry skin without feeling sticky or blocking my pores. Pai Macadamia and Rose Face Cream can be used both as a day cream and as a night cream. Anyone who doesn’t have dry skin may find this nourishing cream a little heavy for day use, but may still enjoy using it as a rich night cream.

Ingredients Pai Skincare products are made from pure, natural, plant-based ingredients and are preservative-free. Pai do not use artificial colours, artificial fragrances, formaldehyde, mineral oils, parabens (or other synthetic preservatives), petrochemicals,
phthalates or sodium lauryl sulphates. Pai’s products are all formulated with sensitive skin in mind. Hand-made in small batches, they are so fresh a ‘Best Before’ date is stamped on every bottle. Although Pai’s products have a short shelf life (approx. 6 months), I have absolutely no problem with that, as I know it is because their products are natural and don’t contain chemical nasties. (Plus a bottle of this moisturiser is unlikely to last me that long!) Pai’s skincare line is certified by the Soil Association. The ingredients are written in both Latin and English so you know what exactly they are. The ingredients of the Pai Macadamia and Rose Dry Skin Cream are mainly organic and include: rose water, macadamia nut oil, apricot kernel oil, a corn-based emulsifier, thistle oil, shea butter, vegetable-based glycerine, borage oil, vitamin e, manuka oil, rosemary antioxidant, frankincense, rose geranium, and rose essential oil. Many of these ingredients in Pai Skin Cream for Dry Skin are known for their rejuvenating, nourishing and restorative properties. This cream is also suitable for vegans.

Results As I have dry winter skin right now, I found this Pai Macadamia Face Cream rich and nourishing. Pai Skin Cream for Dry Skin absorbed quickly without leaving a film on my skin. My skin feels soft, smooth and hydrated. In the summer, when my skin isn’t quite so dry I would use this cream as a rich, thick night cream. I will definitely buy it again.

Pros: Very hydrating. Nourishes my dry skin.
It is excellent for sensitive skin.
Beautiful, subtle fragrance.
Little goes a long way.
Gentle enough to use on the delicate eye area.
Can be used both as a day and a night cream.

Cons: Unless you have dry skin, it is probably too rich to use as a day cream.
· Would probably have to use as a night cream only in the summer.

Burt's Bees Lip Gloss Reviews

Review of Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss
By Shona B.

Packaging Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss comes in a normal squeezy lip-gloss tube. It has a screw on lid, which is great because it means it won’t get lost in your bag. It’s a nice big 14g size, which will last a long time. The clear tube makes it easy to see how much is left and what colour the product is. The packaging of this Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss is fairly attractive and a bit quirky, although not luxurious or expensive looking.

Application You have to squeeze quite hard to get the Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss out but it comes out slowly and evenly – no globs of product left in patches on your lips. The lack of brush or sponge applicator on the end means you have to rub your lips together to get even coverage but it also means that there is very little wastage or mess. The Burt’s Bees Lip gloss is thick which means it doesn’t run or “gloop” everywhere. It is a bit sticky though and you know you’re wearing it. My husband hated the texture of it and refused to kiss me when he saw I was wearing it! If you put on too much it tends to collect on the edges of your lips, which isn’t visible because of the sheerness of the colour but it feels unpleasant. The Burt’s Bees Shiny Lipgloss does what it says on the tin – it’s super shiny! The colour is sheer and gives a hint of tint rather than a full on colour. It has a very subtle sparkle, which I love and looks great over a lipstick. I like that you can rub it on fairly haphazardly and it still looks good.

It has a watermelon fragrance which is quite refreshing. Although this Burts Bees Lip Gloss says it has a juicy fruit fragrance it just tasted like lip gloss to me.

Like most lip-glosses it doesn’t last very long and on a night out I found I had to top it up after almost every sip of a drink. It didn’t leave those nasty tell tale lipstick marks on the glass (or teeth!) though.

Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Gloss left my lips feeling soft and moisturised. I didn’t need to use a lip balm to restore moisture after using it.

I tried the zesty red of the Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss, which looks like a berry colour in the tube but is far lighter and very pretty on the lips. I think it would suit most complexions.

Ingredients Burts Bees Gloss is 100% natural with lots of oils such as caster seed, sunflower seed and sweet almond. This colour does contain carmine, other colours may not.

Results A pleasant enough lip-gloss which gives a pretty if not very long lasting finish.

Pros: No gloopiness
Unlikely to squeeze everywhere in your bag
Nice size – small but practical
Great every day colour
Doesn’t dry out lips
Fool proof application

Cons: A little sticky
Not very long lasting
This colour contains carmine

Best For: Girls who love their lip glosses and want a pretty but subtle colour which is quick and easy to use.

Pai Skincare Organic Cleanser Reviews

Review of Pai Camellia & Rose Cleanser
By Beverley S.

Packaging Although I received a sample small sample pot of Pai Skincare Organic Cleanser it was a perfect size giving an adequate amount of product to really experience this type of cleanser. Normal sample sizes would only give one or two applications therefore Pai really do supply enough to enjoy the cleanser over a week or two depending on the amount used. I loved the fact Pai’s cleanser has a ‘best before’ date (around 5mths)
Application I would love to have the pump dispenser with the full size Pai Skincare Camellia & Rose Cleanser as this would be helpful in understanding the exact amount I needed to use as it is different from my normal cream cleanser. I was hesitant at first as the wonderful smell of Pai Camellia and Rose Cleanser made me think it would sting as my skin is very sensitive but when I applied the ‘balm’ like texture is was notably different and most enjoyable to use. I placed the cleanser in my hands to warm the oils then cupped my hands to enjoy the beautiful scent of rose and camellia oils. I gently massaged all over my face, including my eyes although I did take extra to use on my neck and decollate (one of the reasons I feel the pump would be the best way to start and use Pai’s cleanser. The Pai Skincare organic cleanser melted so beautifully, yet didn’t leave my face oily even though I have dry/sensitive skin some cleansers can be oily until rinsed off. This Pai cleanser was luxurious and left my skin feeling pampered yet thoroughly cleansed. I wear mineral makeup with light eye makeup which the cleanser took off with ease and I feel it wouldn’t have any problem with heavier makeup.
Pai have organic muslin cloths to use with the cleanser, as I had my own muslin I was still able to experience the full cleansing routine.
I warmed my muslin in hand hot water and draped it over my face, allowing the luxurious organic oils of camellia, sweet almond, manuka, lavender, geranium, may chang & rose with the addition of shea butter and natural source vitamin E deeply cleanse my skin with the additional naturally sourced ingredients. I then used my muslin in circular movements to remove the Pai Skincare organic cleanser and gently exfoliate my skin, it was bliss!

Comments After removing the Pai skincare organic camellia & rose cleanser my skin really did look fresh and toned even without using my usual skin tonic. My skin didn’t feel tight or sore, it just felt comfortable and even had a glow which I rarely see as my skin is so fragile it isn’t easy to make it glow in a healthy way.
I loved to read that Pai despatch the actual Pai skincare organic cleanser to make sure it is very fresh, in perfect condition for the most sensitive of skins, like mine. I don’t have oily skin at all but I would think anyone could use Pai organic Camellia cleanser in a smaller amount even for a once a week treat if the skin is very active. My skin just loved the cleanser and I looked forward to using it even though I may have used a little more than I needed to. I used Pai without makeup and noticed how gently it cleaned my skin.

Results I was very impressed with how my skin looked and felt after using Pai skincare organic cleanser. No sign or feel of irritation which is something I have experienced in the past. I love the cleanser I use but feel Pai’s has exceeded my expectations & I could use it as an excellent alternative. My skin appeared more radiant, didn’t feel oily or dry. I didn’t feel the need to rush for my moisturiser or another cleanser to make sure my skin was clean.

Pros The ingredients in this Pai skin care cleanser are a joy to read and know they are so fresh and naturally sourced with a high percentage of certified organic oils.
• The addition of Omega 3 plus vitamins A B C & E help without the need of a separate
skin tonic.
• Complete care in one bottle
• The muslin cloth ensures a gentle exfoliation every day which suits my cleansing
routine
• The pump dispenser means the correct amount of product is used without wasting.
• Pai cleanser is without doubt ‘effortless’ perfect for sensitive skin

Cons Almond oil may affect anyone with an allergy to almonds/nuts best to check.
• The muslin cloth has to be purchased separately, it is not included with the Pai skincare organic cleanser but is essential.

Other than the fact I would have loved to have indulged with the pump size of Pai’s cleanser I found the results to be exactly as Pai has claimed in the product details.

Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion Reviews

Review of Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion
By Anisa B.

The packaging for this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion comes in a aluminium tube containing 75ml and retails for £6.95. I like using products in a tube form as I feel this is hygienic and easily dispensable.

The texture of this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion is a milky cream-like texture; it feels just like a rich moisturiser whilst applying. It is easily blendable on the skin and you don’t need to use a large amount, a pea size is enough for the face. It can be applied with the fingers and then washed off or taken off with a cloth. I found either method worked well but with the cloth, you can get stubborn residue off more easily. I also found that because it feels like a moisturiser, you can also leave it on for a couple of minutes as a mask and this really softens the skin up nicely. This Weleda Almond Cleanser had no strong fragrance in it and is ideal for those who have skin that gets easily irritated. I have eczema flare ups often and found this did not aggravate my skin in anyway.

Weleda says that this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion is “dermatologically tested, free of synthetic fragrances, colours, preservatives and raw materials derives from mineral oils, not tested on animals, fragrance free”. Its complete ingredient list is as follows:

Ingredients of this Weleda cleansing lotion are Water (Aqua), Sweet Almond (Prunus dulcis) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Alcohol, Plum (Prunus Domestica) Oil, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid.

The plum oil and sweet almond oil prevent the skin from drying out and the plum oil provides a very subtle (natural) aroma to the product.

I enjoyed using this Weleda Cleanser as it didn’t dry my skin out nor did it irritate my eczema flare ups which can be the case with some cleansers. I also found that it took off all my eye make up and face make up which is wonderful as it shows how effective it is on delicate areas like the eye. I like that I can use it is also effective as a mask too. For me, it does everything I want a cleanser to do, what’s more is it’s cost effective too!

The pros of this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion are: It’s suitable for sensitive & dry skin
- It feels soothing on the skin
- It removes the mostly all of face and eye make-up
- Does not make the eyes tear up
- Does not have strong fragrance
- Does not leave skin feeling dry or tight
- Not expensive
- Cruelty free and natural ingredients

The cons are: Oily skins may find it a bit greasy

Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream Reviews

Review of Whish Pomegranate Body Shave Cream
By Nicky B.

Packaging This gorgeous smelling
Whish Pomegranate shave cream for women comes in a distinctive stylish retro pink and white plastic bottle with a pump.

Application This rich and fruity ‘whipped’
Whish Pomegranate Body Shave Cream
was easy to apply (the pumped bottle made it really easy to use in the shower) and made shaving my legs with a razor a much smoother and easier and to be honest more pampering affair.
Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream felt incredibly moisturizing and I almost didn’t bother putting moisturizing cream on my legs afterwards (which would normally be a must!).

Ingredients Organic pomegranate oil – what a treat! A little web research and I’ve found out that It takes over 200 pounds of fresh pomegranates to produce 1 pound of pomegranate seed oil. It can have major anti-aging benefits, protects against free radicals and damaging environmental effects and to top all this leaves your skin feeling really soft.
This
Whish Shaving Cream also contains natural squalene, organic shea butter (celebrated for its moisturizing and soothing qualities), organic green tea (a powerful antioxidant and soothes inflammation) and nourishing organic jojoba seed oil. There are no nasties! Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream is free of parabens and sulphates and its DEA, TEA and petrochemical free. On top of all this its gluten free too!

Results My skin felt gorgeously soft, lustrously nourished and cared for and I will definitely use this product again.

Pros: Smells fabulous
My skin felt soft and silky and really moisturized

Cons: More expensive than other shaving creams on the high street (but oh so worth it!!)

Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin Reviews

Review of Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin
By Joanne L.

Packaging Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin comes packaged in a transparent glass bottle. The lid features a pump dispenser, helping to keep the contents free from contaminants and fresh. The whole bottle comes in a recyclable card box. The box and bottle both feature the distinctive Pai logo.

Application The light texture of Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Sensitive Skin Cream ensures it is easy to apply evenly to the face and décolleté and is quickly absorbed. Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin left no feeling of stickiness, or the ‘tightness’ sometimes experienced after applying creams. It worked well as a regular moisturiser during my cleansing routine, and as a ‘rescue cream’, applied to soothe and calm my skin when irritated. My skin is quick to react to any environmental changes, and often becomes red and sore after minimal exposure to the elements. This Pai Chamomile and Rosehip cream for Sensitive Skin was light enough to reapply during the day when irritation occurred, quickly rectifying the problem. Because it was so easily absorbed, it also worked well under make-up, providing a well-moisturised base on which to apply further products.

Ingredients As with all Pai products, Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin is Vegan and Cruelty free. I was particularly pleased that the cream did not contain parabens, fragrance, chemicals or petrochemicals which can cause allergies and to which my skin has reacted so badly in the past. The ingredients are clearly identified so it is easy to see exactly what it is you are using. The Pai range is preservative free, again cutting down on the irritants among the list of ingredients. Chamomile and Rosehip soothe sensitive skin and protect it from further irritation, and the cream is also rich in anti-oxidants and Omega 3 & 6, renowned for their anti-aging properties.

Results Whilst using Pai Chamomile and Rosehip Cream, my skin has been well moisturised, and I have had minimal flare-ups. When the autumn winds did their worst, the problem was quickly resolved by using the cream. And although the price does seem quite high for a small bottle such as this, a little goes a long way and it is worth every penny to keep my skin hydrated without irritation.

Pros: Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin is suitable for use by those with even the most sensitive skin.
Hydrated skin throughout the day without feeling greasy or ‘heavy’.
Gentle, natural fragrance without being overpowering.
Provides a calming solution when skin has been irritated by environmental factors, such as the wind.

Cons: Because the Pai skincare range is preservative free, they do have a shorter shelf life of approximately six months. You would probably use the product in that time anyway, but may be a consideration for some people.

Logona Natural Make up Fluid

Review of Logona Natural Make up Fluid
By Ellie A.

I don’t usually wear liquid foundation, as it tends to be sticky and oily and usually makes your skin look quite shiny. However, this make-up fluid from Logona was completely different to any liquid foundation I have ever tried. For a start it is creamy, rather than runny, but not so firm that you end up looking blotchy. It has the nicest smell I have ever smelt of a foundation – a mixture of clay and flowers (roses or something of the sort). As it is not oily or too runny, this Logona Natural Make up Fluid is very suitable for everyday use and, as it is also quite moisturising, acts as another layer of moisturising cream, without being too sticky.

This Logona foundation is very easy to apply as it comes in a sensible squeezey tube with a twisty lid. The packaging is very nice too – not too outrageous, not too boring. The tube is a pretty silvery grey, and the information is all printed in dark blue/black so it is very easy to read.

The only problem I had with this Logona Make up Fluid was matching the correct shade to my skin tone. I found that the “light beige” (billed as suitable for “very fair skin”) was far too pale for me, although I usually have to get the palest tones to suit me. I would say that the “light beige” would only really be suitable for people with the “porcelain” skin tone, and that anyone else should probably go for the “medium beige” (for “fair to medium skin”). However, if you are really unsure, it might be worth seeing if Logona do samples so you can try both shades and see which one suits you best.

Overall, I would say that this foundation is an extremely good one and very suited to everyday use. Just be careful choosing the right shade!

Green People Organic Aloe Vera Shower Bath

Review of Green People Organic Aloe Vera Shower Bath
By Susan S.

Packaging
The Green People Organic Aloe Vera Shower Bath comes in a green and white tube, a clean and simple looking modern design.

Application
You need very little of this Green People product to create a foam, however as it is so concentrated and contains no water (unlike most other shower gels), it helps to add a little water to the shower gel in your hand before rubbing together to make a foam.

Ingredients
This Green People Aloe Vera Shower Gel contains pure, natural and organic ingredients and no water, meaning that it is very concentrated. A small bottle lasts a very long time. It is claimed that 30ml equates to about 90-120ml of most conventional shower gels, and I found this to be true. It also contains no parabens, colours, artificial fragrance, alcohol, synthetic preservatives, or other unnecessary ingredients. The main ingredient on the list is aloe vera, making it very gentle and moisturising.

Results
This Green People Aloe Vera Shower Bath left my skin feeling silky smooth and soft, with no irritation or dryness. It was very pleasant to use, with a relaxing lavender scent. It did not create masses amounts of foam in the bath, and I did not want to waste it by pouring lots in, so I preferred to use it as a shower gel by pouring a small amount into my hand and adding a little water to make a luxurious moisturising foam. It was much better than most other shower gels I have tried, and not much more expensive, as a little goes a long way.

Pros:
It left my skin feeling soft and smooth, with little need for body lotion afterwards.
It is concentrated so a little goes a long way.
It has a lovely relaxing natural scent.

Cons:
Does not foam straight away, needs a little water mixed in.
did not find it very good for use as a bubble bath, it was best as a shower gel.

Living Nature Lipstick

Review of Living Nature Lipstick (Morning Sun)
By Andrea L.

Packaging
The matt black box with silver lettering gives the product a modern, quality feel, but this is let down by the printing error which describes the Living Nature product as ‘MADE OF NEW ZEALAND’.
The matt black casing of the Living Nature lipstick continues the modern, quality feel and was a welcome change to the shiny metal casings of many lipsticks. I would be happy to get this lipstick out in public! There is a reassuring weight to the product and a good, firm movement when twisting the lipstick up and down.

Appearance of lipstick
A good muted colour; no obvious perfume.

Performance
A creamy natural lipstick which gives good coverage, but which is slightly heavy and rather ageing. I was aware of the product on my lips and conscious that the lipstick was quite obvious, rather than the ‘natural’ feel and look which I prefer. When the product wore off, it left a slight staining to the lips.
The Living Nature lip stick transferred easily to cups and even survived a wash cycle in the dishwasher. It did not, however, stay in place during a meal.

General Comments
The shade (Morning Sun) did not suit my colouring. It came up more orange than I expected from its initial appearance and lacked a red tone, which I would have expected from something described as ‘Morning Sun’. It is rather a flat colour which lacks any shine. I would not buy this product in this shade, but would be interested to try it in a brown/pink shade.
Overall: 8/10.

Living Nature Concealer- Medium

Review of Living Nature Concealer- Medium
By Ruksana H

Packaging
Sophisticated black easy to squeeze tube.

Application
I was amazed at the coverage from this Living Nature Liquid Concealer- medium, if you are seeking a concealer that will cover a multitude of sins or just bad skin this will do the trick as the coverage is full and being a natural concealer it will repair your skin, leading to skin that will become clearer quicker.

Ingredients
Manuka honey is the main ingredient in this Living Nature concealer, which is fantastic for healing blemishes as it speeds healing time and is great for clearing any spot causing bacteria on the skin.

Results
This Living Nature concealer liquid covered redness and any other little blemishes perfectly although it felt slightly drying on the skin, its best to moisture skin well if your skin tends to flake or you have dry skin, as it will become apparent through this concealer.

Pros:
Great coverage.
Skin nourishing and healing ingredients in this concealer make it an attractive buy.

Cons:
The talc in this Living Nature product made it drying.
Heavy coverage is suited to problematic skin as it is heavy for normal skins.

Color not suitable for Asian skins as it was too light.

Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner

Review of Wild Rose Facial Toner
By Irene W.

Packaging
The Weleda Wild Rose Facial Toner comes in a dark blue glass bottle inside a pretty pink cardboard box with classy gold print.

Application
This is a toner that is part of Weleda’s Wild Rose range so it complements the cleanser and moisturizer. It is to be used following cleansing your face. It smells very subtly of rose and feels very cooling as you pat it on your face with a cotton wool pad. Only a couple of splashes are required and has a slight astringent feel on your skin but it leaves you feeling very fresh and ready to apply your moisturizer.

Ingredients
Weleda are an ethical company that do not use anything synthetic in their products so every ingredient is from pure wild crafted, organically and biodynamical cultivated plants. Their products are very suited to sensitive skin. The Wild Rose Toner is made with Rosa Moshata Leaf Extract which refreshes through its lightly astringent action, and is suitable for vegans.

Results
After using the Weleda Wild Rose Toner my skin feels toned, fresh and relaxed and as a bonus it smells good too. I would definitely use this again.

Pros:
It tones my skin well
It smells good
It is very reasonably priced
It complements the rest of the range

Cons:
· I cannot fault this Weleda Rose Toner- it is my favorite toner ever and I will definitely be using it from now on.

Inika Vegan Lip Gloss

Review of Inika Vegan Lip Gloss
By Joanne L.

This miniature, all natural, Inika vegan lip gloss comes in a range of four colours. Inika have continued their signature simple, classy packaging with the black and clear lip gloss casing, though the set comes in a rather glamorous gold compact.

The angled applicator within this Inika lip gloss tube is shaped beautifully to allow easy application to the contours of your lip shape. It has a lovely light texture, and is not at all sticky or heavy feeling like many other lip glosses can be. It did need the occasional re-application during the day, as any gloss would, though it lasted well overall. I have worn ‘Sizzle’ on its own, and over the top of darker, matt colours to add a touch of sparkle, both worked beautifully.

Another bonus to the Inika lipgloss is that it has a very subtle scent and taste, so no unpleasant clashes with your favourite perfume or your favourite tipple! But the texture has got to be its biggest selling point. I could wear this Inika vegan gloss every day.

Living Nature Liquid Concealer Light

Review of Living Nature Liquid Concealer Light
By Debra S.

Packaging
This Living Nature product is contained in a chocolate brown plastic squeeze tube with a fully detachable nozzle which screws off clockwise. It is elegant and compact in design. There is easy to read stone coloured lettering in a simple text, with basic information on the front and the rest printed on the reverse.

Application
It has a good firm texture and is quite easy to apply, blending well if stoked gently into the face. This Living Nature Liquid Concealer into my skin without blotching anywhere and it felt and looked like a second skin. The concealer has a pleasing, even coverage, as it is quite thick and only quite a small amount needs to be applied. It appeared to be lighter on my skin than it looked as it was squeezed out of the tube. I found it was a perfect colour for me, so I was very impressed. After application of the concealer, my skin appeared to shimmer slightly and my dark circles under my eyes vanished. It even seemed to reduce puffiness. I was very pleased to notice that all blemishes appeared visibly reduced. The skin seemed smoother and more even in contour and colour tone. I would say it also moisturized without being oily at all. It has a pleasant, faint, nutty odour which I could not smell once applied.

Ingredients
I understand that amongst the ingredients in the Living Nature concealer is manuka honey. This is native to New Zealand, and, noted for its medical properties. Jojoba esters are another natural ingredient, a type of emollient compatible to human skin. Macadamia ternifolia seed oil is an anti-oxidant which may help dry or mature skin. Simmondsia is a pure liquid wax which does not need refining. The other ingredients are foundation, tints and powder. The ingredients are listed online on their website, and, it is easy to find information about them.

Results
Although a small tube, I would say it will last as so little needs to be used. From the very first application of the Living Nature light concealer, there were no allergies at all. It lasted from between six to twelve hours, depending on whether I perspired or not and how much. On average, I would say it lasts best for about eight hours a day with a single application before it gradually starts to fade. Impressive, as I only tested it on quite hot days at the end of summer. I think I am a convert…

Pros:
Only a small amount needs to be used.
It lasts a long time on your skin.
There were no allergic reactions.
Dark circles and blemishes vanished.
The main ingredients are natural and good for your skin.

Cons:

· I have honestly not found any, despite being quite critical normally

Elysambre Spangles Glitter (Gold)

Review of Elysambre Spangles Glitter (Gold)
By Caroline S.

My first thought when I set eyes on this stunning little Elysambre Spangles Glitter (Gold) pot with its clear square base and circular lid, was that it looked like something from one of the designer make up ranges in a department store. It really is a lovely, classy looking container and I'll be the first to admit that I am a sucker for pretty packaging!

Turning it over, the Elysambre product can be seen through the base - and my first thought was that it was a bronzing powder - as it appears to be a very highly pigmented coppery-bronze colour. Now, as a pale-skinned redhead, bronzing powder is not always my friend so, with some trepidation, I opened the lid.

I used a small, stiff eye brush and found that it picked up a good amount of powder quite easily. I dabbed the Elysambre Gold Glitter onto my bare eyelid expecting to be confronted with a bright copper eye. However, to my surprise, I discovered that it is actually not at all as pigmented as it first appears and does not give a "flat" sweep of colour.

The sparkles themselves are larger than you would expect and incredibly reflective - they are also a beautiful, buttery gold and not orange at all. I found that no matter how much of the Elysambre Gold Spangles I packed on to my eyes, the result was still that of a bare eyelid with glittery spangles which is much nicer and far more wearable than an overload of plain gold pigment.

I must be honest and say that there was quite a lot of "fallout" and I would really recommend either a generous dusting of loose powder on your cheeks OR holding a tissue to your cheeks when applying to the eyes.

Once on the skin though, the staying power is fantastic and this makes it incredibly versatile. I found that I could use this Elysambre Spangles Gold glitter over my normal eyeshadow with no problems at all - it added sparkle without affecting base colour. I successfully wore it with green, lilac and brown eyeshadows and it stayed on all day. In fact, if anything, I had a little difficulty removing it all at night and still found bits on my pillow the next day!

For use on body and décolletage it is equally wonderful. I mixed some of the powder with a little light body lotion to give a sparkle without looking over-glittery. It looked fabulous on my pale skin and I imagine it would look even better on darker skin tones or with a tan.

Being completely honest, this product is for people who want glitter and not shimmer. The particles are large and very reflective - but they somehow manage to look incredibly expensive as they have the "cleanest" reflection of any glitter I have ever used. They are bright and rich-toned particles and definitely look like grown-up designer make up, rather than something out of a child's play kit.

Even with my sensitive skin, this glitter was comfortable to wear and did not irritate my eyes, body or face in the least. One Elysambre Gold Glitter pot will last a long, long time and I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked the product.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of glamour and glitz in their make-up kit!

Green People Organic Babies Mum & Baby Moisturiser – Lavender

Review of Green People Organic Babies Mum & Baby Moisturiser – Lavender
By Nadine D.

I have been testing the Green People Mum & Baby Moisturiser with my two year old daughter for the past ten days. I thought that the design work on the packaging was very appealing to mothers and something that would catch my eye on a supermarket shelf.

On first impressions, I thought that the Green People Organic Babies Mum & Baby Moisturiser – Lavender would be slightly too runny to use on my toddler, in comparison to the baby lotions I am used to. Actually, the consistency of this Green People moisturiser was perfect, easy to rub in and it didn’t leave a greasy residue. The fragrance of lavender was wonderful, but not too overpowering and excellent as part of a bedtime routine. Both my and my daughter’s skin felt soft and nourished and neither of us had any adverse skin reactions (my daughter’s skin can be prone to eczema patches).

I would definitely buy this Green People product again as it suited both of our skin types, although I would prefer it in a pump action container as it was hard to control from a tube (especially by an over-zealous two-year old!).

Weleda Almond Moisture Cream

Review of Weleda Almond Moisture Cream
By Geri A.

This Weleda Almond Cream is for sensitive skin but it is also suitable for other skin types. It is light and creamy and it sinks into the skin effortlessly. It is absorbed quickly and does not leave a sticky residue on the skin so it is very suitable as a nourishing night cream as well providing a good make-up base during the day.

Weleda Almond Moisture Cream contains only pure, natural ingredients and it free of heavy fragrances. It has a hint of almond and is gentle as it cares for the skin. It contains sweet almond oil and palm kernel oil which nourish the skin and help to support its protective layer. In this way, the skin can regain its natural balance. This Weleda cream is in a tube and is easy to apply. It is packaged in a pretty pink box and has not been tested on animals. It is free from synthetic fragrances, colours, preservatives and raw materials that have been obtained from mineral oils. This cream soothes, protects and supports the skin. Weleda’s plants are mostly grown bio dynamically in their own gardens, either organically or harvested from certified wild plant collections and you can use this product in the knowledge that its ingredients are pure and carefully chosen. Weleda Almond Moisture Cream’s ingredients are ethically sourced and are good for the skin.

Gamarde Tinted Facial Care Cream

Review of Gamarde Tinted Facial Care Cream (Matt Sensitive skins)

By Jennifer N.

This was the first time that I had used a tinted facial cream, which I found quite easy to apply. When I opened the Gamarde tube what hits you first is the smell, this could have been the Argan oil that is in the formulation. It was not unpleasant, but initially it was a little strong for me, however it does diminish.

The colour appeared darker in the tube than my actual olive skin tone, but when it was applied it gave an even natural coverage. Because it is tinted it is not like a foundation that masks imperfections on the skin however what it achieves is a light coverage that gives a healthy glow. I wore a white T-shirt and it did not mark it, so I think that is excellent.

The texture is just like an ordinary moisturizer, because it can be applied using the fingertips so it feels light on the skin. Additionally because of this moisturizing effect, my skin did not feel dry or tight.

The Gamarde Tinted Facial Cream tube in which it comes in is just right, because it will fit easily into any make-up bag. Also because the ingredients are 100% organic I was quite comfortable in applying it to my skin without worrying.

The Gamarde Tinted Facial Care Cream (£21.00 40gr) and other Gamarde products are available at Naturisimo.com

Inika Lip Gloss

Review of Inika Lip Gloss
By Eleanor R.
The packaging for the Inika lip gloss is quite basic but has classic styling and is sturdy enough, and slim enough, to withstand being carried around in your make-up bag or hand-bag. The applicator is, again, a fairly standard sponge (which I prefer to a brush) but it does the job and applies the gloss smoothly and neatly.
The colour of the Inika lip gloss is a pretty and flattering modern shade that would suit most skin tones – particularly a slightly tanned complexion. It has a subtle sheen that is not too shiny or ‘wet’ looking. This gloss could be worn as part of a simple, summery day-time look or you could apply it more heavily for a sexy evening look.
The Inika lip gloss is not scented – a bonus in my eyes – but has that reassuringly ‘old-fashioned’ waxy aroma that lipsticks used to have! Unfortunately, it also leaves a waxy taste on your lips, which is not too pleasant. It also has a slightly ‘gritty’ feeling when applied and becomes dry quite quickly, which left my lips feeling like they needed moisturising. The colour lasts longer than the shine, but needs reapplying after an hour or so.
Overall, I was pleased with the stylish colour and classy shine but this is not the most enjoyable product to use.
