Burt's Bees Lip Gloss Reviews

Review of Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss
By Shona B.

Packaging Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss comes in a normal squeezy lip-gloss tube. It has a screw on lid, which is great because it means it won’t get lost in your bag. It’s a nice big 14g size, which will last a long time. The clear tube makes it easy to see how much is left and what colour the product is. The packaging of this Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss is fairly attractive and a bit quirky, although not luxurious or expensive looking.

Application You have to squeeze quite hard to get the Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss out but it comes out slowly and evenly – no globs of product left in patches on your lips. The lack of brush or sponge applicator on the end means you have to rub your lips together to get even coverage but it also means that there is very little wastage or mess. The Burt’s Bees Lip gloss is thick which means it doesn’t run or “gloop” everywhere. It is a bit sticky though and you know you’re wearing it. My husband hated the texture of it and refused to kiss me when he saw I was wearing it! If you put on too much it tends to collect on the edges of your lips, which isn’t visible because of the sheerness of the colour but it feels unpleasant. The Burt’s Bees Shiny Lipgloss does what it says on the tin – it’s super shiny! The colour is sheer and gives a hint of tint rather than a full on colour. It has a very subtle sparkle, which I love and looks great over a lipstick. I like that you can rub it on fairly haphazardly and it still looks good.

It has a watermelon fragrance which is quite refreshing. Although this Burts Bees Lip Gloss says it has a juicy fruit fragrance it just tasted like lip gloss to me.

Like most lip-glosses it doesn’t last very long and on a night out I found I had to top it up after almost every sip of a drink. It didn’t leave those nasty tell tale lipstick marks on the glass (or teeth!) though.

Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Gloss left my lips feeling soft and moisturised. I didn’t need to use a lip balm to restore moisture after using it.

I tried the zesty red of the Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss, which looks like a berry colour in the tube but is far lighter and very pretty on the lips. I think it would suit most complexions.

Ingredients Burts Bees Gloss is 100% natural with lots of oils such as caster seed, sunflower seed and sweet almond. This colour does contain carmine, other colours may not.
