Burt's Bees Lip Gloss Reviews

Review of Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss
By Shona B.

Packaging Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss comes in a normal squeezy lip-gloss tube. It has a screw on lid, which is great because it means it won’t get lost in your bag. It’s a nice big 14g size, which will last a long time. The clear tube makes it easy to see how much is left and what colour the product is. The packaging of this Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss is fairly attractive and a bit quirky, although not luxurious or expensive looking.

Application You have to squeeze quite hard to get the Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss out but it comes out slowly and evenly – no globs of product left in patches on your lips. The lack of brush or sponge applicator on the end means you have to rub your lips together to get even coverage but it also means that there is very little wastage or mess. The Burt’s Bees Lip gloss is thick which means it doesn’t run or “gloop” everywhere. It is a bit sticky though and you know you’re wearing it. My husband hated the texture of it and refused to kiss me when he saw I was wearing it! If you put on too much it tends to collect on the edges of your lips, which isn’t visible because of the sheerness of the colour but it feels unpleasant. The Burt’s Bees Shiny Lipgloss does what it says on the tin – it’s super shiny! The colour is sheer and gives a hint of tint rather than a full on colour. It has a very subtle sparkle, which I love and looks great over a lipstick. I like that you can rub it on fairly haphazardly and it still looks good.

It has a watermelon fragrance which is quite refreshing. Although this Burts Bees Lip Gloss says it has a juicy fruit fragrance it just tasted like lip gloss to me.

Like most lip-glosses it doesn’t last very long and on a night out I found I had to top it up after almost every sip of a drink. It didn’t leave those nasty tell tale lipstick marks on the glass (or teeth!) though.

Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Gloss left my lips feeling soft and moisturised. I didn’t need to use a lip balm to restore moisture after using it.

I tried the zesty red of the Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss, which looks like a berry colour in the tube but is far lighter and very pretty on the lips. I think it would suit most complexions.

Ingredients Burts Bees Gloss is 100% natural with lots of oils such as caster seed, sunflower seed and sweet almond. This colour does contain carmine, other colours may not.

Results A pleasant enough lip-gloss which gives a pretty if not very long lasting finish.

Pros: No gloopiness
Unlikely to squeeze everywhere in your bag
Nice size – small but practical
Great every day colour
Doesn’t dry out lips
Fool proof application

Cons: A little sticky
Not very long lasting
This colour contains carmine

Best For: Girls who love their lip glosses and want a pretty but subtle colour which is quick and easy to use.

Pai Skincare Organic Cleanser Reviews

Review of Pai Camellia & Rose Cleanser
By Beverley S.

Packaging Although I received a sample small sample pot of Pai Skincare Organic Cleanser it was a perfect size giving an adequate amount of product to really experience this type of cleanser. Normal sample sizes would only give one or two applications therefore Pai really do supply enough to enjoy the cleanser over a week or two depending on the amount used. I loved the fact Pai’s cleanser has a ‘best before’ date (around 5mths)
Application I would love to have the pump dispenser with the full size Pai Skincare Camellia & Rose Cleanser as this would be helpful in understanding the exact amount I needed to use as it is different from my normal cream cleanser. I was hesitant at first as the wonderful smell of Pai Camellia and Rose Cleanser made me think it would sting as my skin is very sensitive but when I applied the ‘balm’ like texture is was notably different and most enjoyable to use. I placed the cleanser in my hands to warm the oils then cupped my hands to enjoy the beautiful scent of rose and camellia oils. I gently massaged all over my face, including my eyes although I did take extra to use on my neck and decollate (one of the reasons I feel the pump would be the best way to start and use Pai’s cleanser. The Pai Skincare organic cleanser melted so beautifully, yet didn’t leave my face oily even though I have dry/sensitive skin some cleansers can be oily until rinsed off. This Pai cleanser was luxurious and left my skin feeling pampered yet thoroughly cleansed. I wear mineral makeup with light eye makeup which the cleanser took off with ease and I feel it wouldn’t have any problem with heavier makeup.
Pai have organic muslin cloths to use with the cleanser, as I had my own muslin I was still able to experience the full cleansing routine.
I warmed my muslin in hand hot water and draped it over my face, allowing the luxurious organic oils of camellia, sweet almond, manuka, lavender, geranium, may chang & rose with the addition of shea butter and natural source vitamin E deeply cleanse my skin with the additional naturally sourced ingredients. I then used my muslin in circular movements to remove the Pai Skincare organic cleanser and gently exfoliate my skin, it was bliss!

Comments After removing the Pai skincare organic camellia & rose cleanser my skin really did look fresh and toned even without using my usual skin tonic. My skin didn’t feel tight or sore, it just felt comfortable and even had a glow which I rarely see as my skin is so fragile it isn’t easy to make it glow in a healthy way.
I loved to read that Pai despatch the actual Pai skincare organic cleanser to make sure it is very fresh, in perfect condition for the most sensitive of skins, like mine. I don’t have oily skin at all but I would think anyone could use Pai organic Camellia cleanser in a smaller amount even for a once a week treat if the skin is very active. My skin just loved the cleanser and I looked forward to using it even though I may have used a little more than I needed to. I used Pai without makeup and noticed how gently it cleaned my skin.

Results I was very impressed with how my skin looked and felt after using Pai skincare organic cleanser. No sign or feel of irritation which is something I have experienced in the past. I love the cleanser I use but feel Pai’s has exceeded my expectations & I could use it as an excellent alternative. My skin appeared more radiant, didn’t feel oily or dry. I didn’t feel the need to rush for my moisturiser or another cleanser to make sure my skin was clean.

Pros The ingredients in this Pai skin care cleanser are a joy to read and know they are so fresh and naturally sourced with a high percentage of certified organic oils.
• The addition of Omega 3 plus vitamins A B C & E help without the need of a separate
skin tonic.
• Complete care in one bottle
• The muslin cloth ensures a gentle exfoliation every day which suits my cleansing
routine
• The pump dispenser means the correct amount of product is used without wasting.
• Pai cleanser is without doubt ‘effortless’ perfect for sensitive skin

Cons Almond oil may affect anyone with an allergy to almonds/nuts best to check.
• The muslin cloth has to be purchased separately, it is not included with the Pai skincare organic cleanser but is essential.

Other than the fact I would have loved to have indulged with the pump size of Pai’s cleanser I found the results to be exactly as Pai has claimed in the product details.

Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion Reviews

Review of Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion
By Anisa B.

The packaging for this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion comes in a aluminium tube containing 75ml and retails for £6.95. I like using products in a tube form as I feel this is hygienic and easily dispensable.

The texture of this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion is a milky cream-like texture; it feels just like a rich moisturiser whilst applying. It is easily blendable on the skin and you don’t need to use a large amount, a pea size is enough for the face. It can be applied with the fingers and then washed off or taken off with a cloth. I found either method worked well but with the cloth, you can get stubborn residue off more easily. I also found that because it feels like a moisturiser, you can also leave it on for a couple of minutes as a mask and this really softens the skin up nicely. This Weleda Almond Cleanser had no strong fragrance in it and is ideal for those who have skin that gets easily irritated. I have eczema flare ups often and found this did not aggravate my skin in anyway.

Weleda says that this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion is “dermatologically tested, free of synthetic fragrances, colours, preservatives and raw materials derives from mineral oils, not tested on animals, fragrance free”. Its complete ingredient list is as follows:

Ingredients of this Weleda cleansing lotion are Water (Aqua), Sweet Almond (Prunus dulcis) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Alcohol, Plum (Prunus Domestica) Oil, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid.

The plum oil and sweet almond oil prevent the skin from drying out and the plum oil provides a very subtle (natural) aroma to the product.

I enjoyed using this Weleda Cleanser as it didn’t dry my skin out nor did it irritate my eczema flare ups which can be the case with some cleansers. I also found that it took off all my eye make up and face make up which is wonderful as it shows how effective it is on delicate areas like the eye. I like that I can use it is also effective as a mask too. For me, it does everything I want a cleanser to do, what’s more is it’s cost effective too!

The pros of this Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion are: It’s suitable for sensitive & dry skin
- It feels soothing on the skin
- It removes the mostly all of face and eye make-up
- Does not make the eyes tear up
- Does not have strong fragrance
- Does not leave skin feeling dry or tight
- Not expensive
- Cruelty free and natural ingredients

The cons are: Oily skins may find it a bit greasy

Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream Reviews

Review of Whish Pomegranate Body Shave Cream
By Nicky B.

Packaging This gorgeous smelling
Whish Pomegranate shave cream for women comes in a distinctive stylish retro pink and white plastic bottle with a pump.

Application This rich and fruity ‘whipped’
Whish Pomegranate Body Shave Cream
was easy to apply (the pumped bottle made it really easy to use in the shower) and made shaving my legs with a razor a much smoother and easier and to be honest more pampering affair.
Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream felt incredibly moisturizing and I almost didn’t bother putting moisturizing cream on my legs afterwards (which would normally be a must!).

Ingredients Organic pomegranate oil – what a treat! A little web research and I’ve found out that It takes over 200 pounds of fresh pomegranates to produce 1 pound of pomegranate seed oil. It can have major anti-aging benefits, protects against free radicals and damaging environmental effects and to top all this leaves your skin feeling really soft.
This
Whish Shaving Cream also contains natural squalene, organic shea butter (celebrated for its moisturizing and soothing qualities), organic green tea (a powerful antioxidant and soothes inflammation) and nourishing organic jojoba seed oil. There are no nasties! Whish Pomegranate Shave Cream is free of parabens and sulphates and its DEA, TEA and petrochemical free. On top of all this its gluten free too!

Results My skin felt gorgeously soft, lustrously nourished and cared for and I will definitely use this product again.

Pros: Smells fabulous
My skin felt soft and silky and really moisturized

Cons: More expensive than other shaving creams on the high street (but oh so worth it!!)

Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin Reviews

Review of Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin
By Joanne L.

Packaging Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin comes packaged in a transparent glass bottle. The lid features a pump dispenser, helping to keep the contents free from contaminants and fresh. The whole bottle comes in a recyclable card box. The box and bottle both feature the distinctive Pai logo.

Application The light texture of Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Sensitive Skin Cream ensures it is easy to apply evenly to the face and décolleté and is quickly absorbed. Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin left no feeling of stickiness, or the ‘tightness’ sometimes experienced after applying creams. It worked well as a regular moisturiser during my cleansing routine, and as a ‘rescue cream’, applied to soothe and calm my skin when irritated. My skin is quick to react to any environmental changes, and often becomes red and sore after minimal exposure to the elements. This Pai Chamomile and Rosehip cream for Sensitive Skin was light enough to reapply during the day when irritation occurred, quickly rectifying the problem. Because it was so easily absorbed, it also worked well under make-up, providing a well-moisturised base on which to apply further products.

Ingredients As with all Pai products, Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin is Vegan and Cruelty free. I was particularly pleased that the cream did not contain parabens, fragrance, chemicals or petrochemicals which can cause allergies and to which my skin has reacted so badly in the past. The ingredients are clearly identified so it is easy to see exactly what it is you are using. The Pai range is preservative free, again cutting down on the irritants among the list of ingredients. Chamomile and Rosehip soothe sensitive skin and protect it from further irritation, and the cream is also rich in anti-oxidants and Omega 3 & 6, renowned for their anti-aging properties.

Results Whilst using Pai Chamomile and Rosehip Cream, my skin has been well moisturised, and I have had minimal flare-ups. When the autumn winds did their worst, the problem was quickly resolved by using the cream. And although the price does seem quite high for a small bottle such as this, a little goes a long way and it is worth every penny to keep my skin hydrated without irritation.

Pros: Pai Cream for Sensitive Skin is suitable for use by those with even the most sensitive skin.
Hydrated skin throughout the day without feeling greasy or ‘heavy’.
Gentle, natural fragrance without being overpowering.
Provides a calming solution when skin has been irritated by environmental factors, such as the wind.

Cons: Because the Pai skincare range is preservative free, they do have a shorter shelf life of approximately six months. You would probably use the product in that time anyway, but may be a consideration for some people.

Logona Natural Make up Fluid

Review of Logona Natural Make up Fluid
By Ellie A.

I don’t usually wear liquid foundation, as it tends to be sticky and oily and usually makes your skin look quite shiny. However, this make-up fluid from Logona was completely different to any liquid foundation I have ever tried. For a start it is creamy, rather than runny, but not so firm that you end up looking blotchy. It has the nicest smell I have ever smelt of a foundation – a mixture of clay and flowers (roses or something of the sort). As it is not oily or too runny, this Logona Natural Make up Fluid is very suitable for everyday use and, as it is also quite moisturising, acts as another layer of moisturising cream, without being too sticky.

This Logona foundation is very easy to apply as it comes in a sensible squeezey tube with a twisty lid. The packaging is very nice too – not too outrageous, not too boring. The tube is a pretty silvery grey, and the information is all printed in dark blue/black so it is very easy to read.

The only problem I had with this Logona Make up Fluid was matching the correct shade to my skin tone. I found that the “light beige” (billed as suitable for “very fair skin”) was far too pale for me, although I usually have to get the palest tones to suit me. I would say that the “light beige” would only really be suitable for people with the “porcelain” skin tone, and that anyone else should probably go for the “medium beige” (for “fair to medium skin”). However, if you are really unsure, it might be worth seeing if Logona do samples so you can try both shades and see which one suits you best.

Overall, I would say that this foundation is an extremely good one and very suited to everyday use. Just be careful choosing the right shade!
