Review of Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss
By Kath A.
Packaging: The Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss comes in a squeezable, transparent tube with yellow writing and the image of a little flower - a girlie's dream! It has a screw off lid and an angled applicator for easy use.
Application: The Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss is moisturising and juicy without the stickiness that comes with some lip glosses. It has a wonderful citrus scent and also smells of sweeties! It is soothing to the lips and I have worn it with confidence when going out in the cold as I suffer from very chapped lips occasionally. The gloss can be worn on its own as it has a lovely, subtle pink shade or over lipstick to add gloss and shine. It feels like it's doing your lips a lot of good as it's so moisturising and saves on having to apply lipstick!
Ingredients: The Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss contains castor seed oil and sunflower seed oil - all very healthy ingredients and also flower wax and sweet almond oil - you can't get more natural!
I hate the artificial feel of some lipsticks and glosses so this feels like a real treat!
Results: The gloss leaves my lips feeling moisturised and healthy, ready to face the world on cold days or for going out somewhere special! I have never been a fan of lipgloss but this may just make me change my mind!
Pros: 1) Soothing and moisturising for chapped lips
2) Juicy and glossy for a glamorous look
3) A wonderful scent and subtle colour shine
Cons: 1) The Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss does need to be re-appplied regularly but this is a feature of lipgloss I think!
2) The tube is so tough you have to really squeeze to get the product out in any quantity!
3) The colour could be too subtle for some people's tastes.

Inika Vegan Lip Gloss Reviews
Review of Inika Vegan Lip Gloss
By Gillian L.
PACKAGING This Inika Vegan Lip Gloss comes in a classy tube with a sponge applicator. The product name is printed in a sophisticated gold lettering, but unfortunately the sample does not say what it is or what shade! After some experimentation my daughter decided it was lip gloss and not eye shadow!
APPLICATION The Inika Vegan Lip Gloss was easy to apply with the applicator but the shape of the tube made it difficult to get the last bits out and the glittery pieces tended to collect at the bottom .Not an economical design for lip sick or gloss. I applied the gloss on bare lips and it was barely noticeable but over my normal lipstick it did give a subtle, sparkly sheen which I liked.
INGREDIENTS Inika cosmetics are made in Australia and their lip gloss and lipsticks are totally free from synthetic chemicals like parabens, petrochemicals and artificial colours, as well as being suitable for vegans. This is most unusual as most organic lip products rely on animal derived ingredients like beeswax and carmine. The active ingredients include castor oil, carnauba wax, natural vitamin E, grapeseed oil, orange peel oil, mica and natural iron oxides for colour.
RESULTS I was excited to learn that Inika products upheld my organic and cruelty free views, but disappointed with the results of this particular Inika Vegan Lip Gloss. I would be interested in trying another coloured shade as the neutral colour made it barely noticeable and the gloss seemed to need constant re applying. My lips get very dry and chapped, so it may be that the product is not suited to my own need of a very rich, waxy lip product. Maybe this is why few other companies have tried to produce vegan lip products?
PROS - If you are a strict vegan, then this is one of very few organic and vegan lip products around.
- The packaging is sophisticated and the mini trial size which is sold with 3 others in a lovely case is good value.
- It is cruelty free and 100% natural so ethically, very sound.
CONS - The tube packaging made it difficult to get last bits out and to mix the ingredients.
- This particular shade was barely noticeable on bare lips and seemed to sink in rather than stay on the lips as protection.

A'kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser Reviews
Review of A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser & Toner
By Sue B
Packaging A’kin Rose & Geranium Pure Creamy Cleanser & Toner in one with shea Butter & Vitamin B5 comes in a cream coloured tube with mauve writing and a gold coloured symbol stating “pure active botanics” and that it is paraben and sulfate free.
Application The rich, texture of A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser & Toner definitely lives up to the title. Just a pea sized amount is all that is required of this cream as it covers well and, whilst massaging it in, you are immediately relaxed by the aroma of the Rose and Geranium – a favourite fragrance combination of mine. Either tissuing off or rinsing with water, the skin is left feeling soft, smooth, moisturised and pampered. There is no tautness of the skin, often felt with other toners.
Ingredients Despite the long list of ingredients, on reading them through you realize that there are no parabens or sulfates, which is the first thing I look out for when choosing a product - if they are present, then no matter how wonderful the product sounds, it goes straight back on the shelf. There are also the Latin names in brackets which gives the appearance of more ingredients. Once opened this product will last 12 months but using it daily a 30ml tube will be used long before then.
Results A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser & Toner left my skin feeling so wonderfully fresh and enriched, I could easily forget to moisturise. This is the best cleanser and toner in one that I’ve used – yes I’d use it again.
Pros: Rich creamy texture.
Does not leave skin feeling taut.
The rose and geranium fragrance begins the relaxation process after a long or busy day.
Suitable for normal, dry and sensitive skin.
Cons:A 30ml tube doesn’t last very long when used daily.
The symbol stating that it is paraben and sulfate free is not easy to read due to the size of the text and contrast of the colours.

Logona Natural Mascara Reviews
Review of Logona Natural Mascara
By Barbara F.
Product: Logona Natural Mascara. 01 Schwartz black.
Packaging: Silver plastic tube with screw top wand applicator brush.
Application: Logona mascara wand makes applying the mascara extremely easy. It adds colour, volume and definition, clearly separating your eyelashes, making them look longer, shiny and healthy. This Logona natural mascara also protects your lashes against breakage and splitting. Sometimes my eyes can be sensitive to some mascaras, but even after wearing this mascara for over eight hours I did not experience any irritation or stinging. Removing Logona mascara was easy with either normal make-up remover or cleansing facial wipes.
Ingredients: Logona is formulated with all natural ingredients, it does not contain parabens or petrochemicals. BDIH certified. This means the product is an all-natural cosmetic which is cruelty free and the manufacturing process is socially and environmentally responsible.
Results: Easy to use. Logona natural mascara enhances my lashes whilst protecting them. No irritation at all and easy to remove. The first mascara I have been able to wear for longer than a few hours without my eyes beginning to feel irritated. My number one mascara.
Pros: Logona black mascara is animal friendly, eco-friendly, good for those who care about their bodies and the planet.
Enhances and protects all in one.
Cons: Can smudge easily if you rub your eye.

Logona Make Up Fluid Reviews
Review of Logona Make Up Fluid
By Nicky B
Packaging Logona make-up fluid comes in a 30ml recyclable tube with a screw lid.
Application The Logona make up fluid has a powdery silky texture which is easy to apply and doesn’t leave your skin sticky (therefore easy to apply blusher on top without it becoming a bit of a trial!). However, I did experiment by blending Logona make up fluid with a bit of moisturiser as my skin is quite dry to start with - this made it even easier to apply!
Ingredients I have used many Logona products in the past and really love the fact that they offer an “effective natural BDIH certified range of cosmetics and skin care formulated with natural ingredients and free from parabens & petrochemicals”, including Logona make up fluid. BDIH is the Association of German Industries and Trading Firms for pharmaceuticals, health care products, food supplements and personal hygiene products. They have developed comprehensive guidelines for certified natural cosmetics. The makers of the products marked with the BDIH "Certified Natural Cosmetics" seal use “natural raw material such as plant oils, fats and waxes, herbal extracts and essential oils and aromatic materials from controlled biological cultivation or controlled biological wild collection. In addition to the careful selection of raw materials, the ecological impact of each product plays an important role”.
Results I have a very fair skin but even the“01 Light Beige” Logona Makeup fluid foundation is too light for me. I think “02 Medium Beige: fair to medium skin” might have been a better match. However, the 01 shade of Logona make up fluid is brilliant for use under the eyes to disguise dark shadows and make the eye area look really radiant!
Pros: No overwhelming fragrance to this Logona foundation
Good value for money
BDIH certified – no hidden nasties!
Cons: May need to blend with moisturiser if your skin is on the dry side

A'kin Rose Creamy Cleanser Reviews
Review of A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser & Toner
By Caroline S
Packaging: The packaging for this A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser, as with all A'kin products, is beautiful, simple and earthy-looking. The cleanser comes in an ivory/cream plastic bottle which is delightfully soft and easy to squeeze - so no problems getting the product out. A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser and toner is also cleverly designed to stand upside-down on its lid, so that the product is always available near the hole and there is no need for frantic shaking to get at the last drops of your cleanser!
Application: The instructions on this A’kin Rose and Geranium Cleanser say: "Massage a small amount onto your face. Rinse or tissue off".
I personally always like to rinse my face with water after cleansing, whether using a cream cleanser or a facial wash - however, for this review I tried both ways suggested by A'kin for the A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser.
The A’kin cleanser & Toner is very thick and deliciously creamy, it massages into the skin like a dream and really does dissolve make-up and oil on your skin. It works better than you would expect on waterproof eyeliner and mascara and completely removes foundation etc. So I give A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser full marks for cleansing properties.
As for the toning aspect - I'm still unsure. If what you require from a toner is a gentle firming and tightening of the skin, then this product will certainly fulfil your needs. However, if like me, you prefer a toner to refresh and clarify - giving the same sensation as splashing your face with water - then A’kin Rose and Geranium Cleanser and toner does not do the trick, I'm afraid.
It really is incredibly creamy and moisturising - I have tried wiping it off with a muslin cloth and also a wet flannel and A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser always leaves my skin plump, firm, soft and moisturised with a gentle glow. However, for me, I still feel the need to rinse my face in water afterwards as I like to apply moisturiser to a completely dry skin with no trace of residue.
I must emphasise that this is my own personal choice - if you currently use a wipe-off cleanser alone, A'kin Rose & Geranium cleanser and toner in one will suit your needs perfectly.
If you prefer to avoid wiping the face completely, A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser is also suitable for use as a face wash of sorts. Massage into the skin as normal and then wash your face with water, letting the cleanser dissolve and rinse of your face. This works just as well as wiping off, if perhaps not quite as quickly.
Ingredients: Avocado oil, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, olive squalene, panama bark, pro-vitamin B5/panthenol, shea butter, rose flower oil, geranium oil, witchhazel, sandalwood oil.
The amount of moisturising and hydrating ingredients in this A’kin cleanser is outstanding. The witchhazel helps to tone the skin, whilst the floral oils work to balance and moisturise. You can smell the floral extracts and the shea butter upon application of A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser but it is quite a suble scent and not at all sickly or overpowering.
A'kin products are certified by the Australian Vegan society, they are also halal certified, animal cruelty free and organic wherever possible.
Results: I must admit that I have been a fan of A'kin for a couple of years now and I have used both this and the Sandalwood and Neroli Cleansing Gel, depending on my skin needs at the time.
I can honestly recommend this A’kin Rose Geranium Cleanser and I think it is amazing value for money as one bottle lasts a long time - you really do not need to use much at all for thorough cleansing action.
A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser certainly helps to moisturise and plump the skin - even if you rinse afterwards.
My skin is sensitive and dry in patches but A'kin Rose & Geranium cleanser is very soothing and it makes removing make-up far less of a chore for me as I don't need to rub at my face and irritate any sore areas.
A’kin Rose creamy cleanser is one of the best cleansers I have tried and I keep coming back to it - however, it IS aimed at normal, dry and sensitive skins and I can understand why A’kin Rose Creamy Cleanser may be far too rich for oily skins. Luckily, if you do suffer from oily conditions, there is A'kin Pure Facial Cleansing Gel which I can also thoroughly recommend and leaves skin squeaky clean and tightened.
Pros: leaves skin super-soft and glowing
Firms, plumps and moisturises
Removes make-up and daily grime extremely well
A little goes a long way so it is fantastic value for money
Superb ingredients
Brilliant, convenient design of bottle for less waste
Soothing on sensitive/dry areas
Cons: Not recommended for oily skin
May feel too thick and "sticky" for some people who prefer a light cleanser
