Packaging The Inika Mineral Eyeshadow comes packaged in an attractive black and gold cardboard box. The powder is in a small, clear plastic pot with a black screw top lid. Inside the contents are kept secure with a sticker to prevent them spilling out of the dispensing lid.
Application Once you remove the security sticker, the Inika Mineral Eyeshadow is dispensed through three small holes into the recessed ‘tray’ area. I found this very efficient, not too much or too little. Every time I opened the pot, just enough had worked its way out for the next application. The lid did not leak at all and the contents did not stick to the top of the lid and fall out all over the place when you opened it. I have bought different brands of loose eyeshadow in the past and many times disposed of them because the lids were so messy and leaked all over my make-up bags – not this one! The Inika Mineral Eyeshadow can be applied in a number of different ways. Inika recommend applying with a brush, remembering to tap off the excess; this was one of the best loose eyeshadows I have tried for minimal dropping of powder onto the cheeks. I, however, preferred applying this with my finger. You get good control and coverage and it can be blended with a brush afterwards. This leaves even less excess powder to brush of your cheeks. The powder can be blended as dark or light as you please and can be used as eyeliner with a wet brush.
Ingredients Having already used Inika’s products in the past, I was fully aware and commend their commitment to the environment and its customers. Inika is the only cosmetics company in the world to be 100% certified vegan, certified organic or both, 100% certified cruelty free and 100% certified halal. The ingredients are listed on the base of the box and as there seemed to be so few, I even checked online to see if any had been missed off. The shelf life once opened surprised me as it lasts 36 months, I would not have expected a natural product like this to last so long.
Results I love this Inika Mineral Eyeshadow, it is my new favourite! I have worn it every day, natural for daytime and applied with a wet brush for nights out. It is so easy to apply, and blends well with my other eyeshadows to make lovely shimmering shades. The colour has just enough shimmer and is beautiful – coffee cream describes it perfectly. I feel this colour would look wonderful on a darker skin tone for a natural look. The texture is silky smooth and is a pleasure to apply. It does not crease and lasts all day. It even made it through a full day’s work and a one and a half hour session at the gym! I will definitely be buying other shades in this range.
